70 Years
I get up when the sunlight
Breaks up the night in my eyes
Or when the alarm goes off
Early to wake up my wife
I eat breakfast sometimes
In the middle of the night
But rush out the door
Most of the time without trying
The work day goes by so slow
The older I get the faster time goes
The hand that holds back our dreams
Has bigger and better things
Waiting in his wings
_ I’ve built bridges and torn some down
climbed up broken latters and fallen to the gorund
I gotta thank mr duritz for listening to spiritual things
Jesus spoke to me through you
Said do not forget about me.
70 years in the blink of an eye
don’t let regret be a cancer in your life
take a risk a go ahead full steam
cause even if you fall off the mountain
eventually you’ll land in your dreams
it is not what seems
so don’t shut that door
I hear a knocking at my door
At an inconvienient time
I get up from fear
He still talks tto me about dying
When I open up the door
There is a train outside
The whistle blows and I know
This is my last time
Well I looked up and said
Who is driving this thing
They said hey boy get on
Just sit back relax
And don’t you worry bout a thing
_well I’ve planted trees and I’ve burned some down
I’ve eaten seeds and spit them out my mouth
I’ve gotta thank patty and russ for all they’ve done
Cause at times I wanted a change
But in the end I’m thankfull to be there son
70 years in the blink of an eye
don’t let regret be a cancer in your life
take a risk a go ahead full steam
cause even if you fall off the mountain
eventually you’ll land in your dreams
it is not what seems
so don’t shut that door
at 23 now I can look back
and say I don’t know
I was arrogant then when
All that came out of mouth
Was I told you so
70 years seems so long from now
but in a blink of an eye
its all gone2X
